Floor Adhesive Not Drying
Dry to the touch means when you place your fingertips lightly on the adhesive ridges no adhesive transfers to them.
Floor adhesive not drying. We used the home depot pre mixed tile adhesive. After a full week it still is not dry. If the vinyl is glued you have two options. We put it down on a cement floor.
Always follow all of the manufacturer s instructions when using a flooring adhesive. Make sure the installation area is well ventilated. I spread tile adhesive 2 hours ago and the recommendations say open time is 1 hour or until dry to the touch. You tile will dry in time but it may be a while and i can t say it want pop up later.
On a similar line i used wickes floor tile adhesive for wooden floors and scraped it off the tile 3 weeks later. It must be easy to work with and it must adequately fill in gaps between the tile and the substrate. Some tiles sound squishy and move a little. Others seem to be dry.
The problem is the premixed adhesive its great for 4x4 or 6x6. Otherwise you do not have adequate working time. But for the bigger tiles it will not dry it isn t getting enough air to dry always use thin set mortar for floor tile of any size use premixed for backsplashes that have 4x4 and 6x6 tiles. It cannot cure too fast. The adhesive used should be specifically noted as being appropriate for the material substrate and environment of the project at hand. In some spots we had to put a thicker amount of cement to help level the floor.
